Frequently Asked Questions

Will couples counseling or therapy be offered?
Individual or couples counseling, group therapy, or psychotherapy services will NOT be offered during Rekindle. Rekindle is focused on enrichment through informative tools and active engagement with the environment and each other.

What is the difference between therapy and enrichment?
Enrichment is educating couples with a fresh understanding of ways they may engage with each other and using new tools for engagement.  Therapy is focused on problem-solving and helping them learn about dysfunctional patterns they have relied on that are no longer working for them and they seek a professional to help them change those patterns.  Please see “Is Rekindle for you?” to see if Rekindle is a good fit for your marriage.

What role does spirituality play in the Rekindle experience?
Rekindle is informed and inspired by Christian faith, theology, and practice.  For Sara and April, faith is more of a transformative relationship than routine religiosity. Their beliefs are anchored in the person and teachings of Jesus and they seek to live their lives in a way that draws others deeper into the love and light of Christ. There will certainly be biblical references, theological parallels, and spiritual practices integrated into the teachings and tools of Rekindle, but never will spirituality or faith be used to pressure, shame, judge, or minimize anyone for any reason. Rekindle is unapologetically Christian in mission and message, but it is also committed to the radical hospitality and acceptance that Jesus modeled on earth, so all are welcome.

Can singles, dating, or engaged couples participate in Rekindle?
While we do have dreams for creating a variety of Rekindle experiences, this particular Rekindle is for married couples only.
