Co-Parenting Doesn’t Have to Feel Like a Battle.
Sara Hadgraft LMFT, LPC, NCC, AAMFT Supervisor
Divorce and co-parenting can feel overwhelming. Maybe every conversation with your ex turns into a fight. Maybe your kids are caught in the middle, and you’re exhausted trying to protect them from the stress. Maybe you’re struggling to trust that you can co-parent well without sacrificing your own peace.
I get it—because I’ve been there. As a therapist, mediator, and parent, I know firsthand that co-parenting isn’t easy. But I also know the relief that comes when parents step into their roles with confidence, clarity, and a commitment to what’s best for their kids.
That’s where I come in. I help parents navigate difficult conversations, make healthy decisions, and create a stable foundation for their children—whether you’re in the early stages of separation, years into co-parenting, or somewhere in between.
How I Can Help:
I specialize in:
Parent Coordination – Helping parents create structured, conflict-free co-parenting plans.
Co-Parenting Counseling – Supporting better communication and problem-solving for separated parents.
Reunification Counseling – Guiding families through rebuilding relationships after separation or estrangement.
Discernment Counseling – Helping couples on the brink of divorce gain clarity on their next steps.
Blended Family Counseling & Family Therapy – Navigating the complexities of step-parenting, family transitions, and conflict resolution.
Couples and Marriage Counseling – Strengthening relationships at any stage.
Couples Counseling Intensives – Deep, focused work for couples wanting accelerated progress.
No matter your situation, you deserve support, clarity, and hope.
At Sparrow Counseling, you’ll be reminded that you have value, there’s a purpose in the struggle, and hope is always within reach.
My Background & Training
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience working with children and families. I’m trained in:
The Developmental Model (Couples Institute) for couples therapy
Certified Discernment Counseling – Helping couples on the brink of divorce
Parent Coordination & Divorce Mediation (60+ hours of mediation training)
EMDR Therapy – Supporting clients with unresolved trauma

Beyond therapy, I’ve presented at the Alabama Marriage and Family Therapists Conference and Alabama Counseling Association on best practices for serving families navigating divorce and co-parenting.
