As a counselor, I welcome any opportunity to facilitate both recovery from trauma and rediscovery of hope for my clients. It is important to me that our relationship is safe and collaborative. In our initial sessions, we will create goals that will include what you would like to change and what we can do to affect that change. These goals will help us evaluate if what we are doing in sessions is working for you. When working with individuals I use a collaborative, creative approach to accomplish shared therapeutic goals. I am committed to supporting people of all ages in difficult seasons of transition and loss.
My approach to counseling is driven by the need to build a trusting counseling relationship based on empathy and compassion. My work is based on counseling and Biblical principles. Together we will explore your individual concerns and create realistic counseling goals. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. When working with children, I integrate play and art therapy as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when necessary. I work with a variety of issues including anger and aggression problems, sexual abuse, addictions, self-harming behaviors, trauma, anxiety, stress, communication issues, broken relationships, developmental challenges and spiritual concerns.
